Description
A different type of is the machine of Kellner & Flottmann, of Düsseldorf, is used at the Herne cokery of the Hüstener Gewerkschaft (see Figure). In front of the short ramp a, and about 6 ft. lower, is a second broader level 6, with the rail track for the machine. The apparatus, like those formerly described, is self-contained; the floor, as it were, of the machine consists of a grating c, the bars of which are attached to two frames in such a way that those secured to the frame c can alternately be raised and lowered by means of a drum f, whilst the intermediate bars remain stationary. The screen is operated by eccentric shafts d and e, on which the screen frames are loosely mounted in guides c1.
