Click to enlargeClick to enlarge Description

The lengths of the links comply with the conditions: A͞B=C͞B=B͞M=1, A͞E=0.43, C͞E=1.15, β= 265°, M͞D=3.34, F͞D=0.41, C͞F=1.47 and E͞F=2.51. Point M of connecting rod 2 in four-bar linkage EABC describes connecting-rod curve a-a of which two portions, shown by heavy continuous lines, approximate circular arcs of radius D͞M (link 3) and with their centres at point D. When point M is on these portions of path a-a, link 4 is almost stationary, i.e. it practically has two dwells at its extreme positions.
