Crank 1, rotating about fixed axis A, is connected by turning pair B to sliding link 2 which moves in slider 3. Slider 3 turns about fixed axis 0 . When crank 1 rotates about axis .4, point K. of link 2 describes a cardioid with the equation ρ=2a(1-cos(ϕ)) where a=0͞A=A͞B=B͞K/2, ρ = radius vector drawn from centre 0 to point K, ϕ = polar angle.
