Description
The vertical shaft is positioned vertically or horizontally. After the usual lifting speeds for the various loads are found for the linkage between one and two lay, with the first countershaft carries most of the holding brake. The same is in the disengaged clutch hub kept closed by a weight and dissolved at engagement of the clutch by means of a foot lever. (see Figure) The gears between the brake and the drum or sprocket should only be made from cast steel or equally durable material.
