Link 3 is rigidly attached to gear 2 and is connected by turning pair B to slider 5 which moves along horizontal fixed guides b-b. When driving gear 1 turns, sliders 5 and 4 move along guides b-b and a-a. The displacements x and y of the sliders are related to angle ϕ of rotation of gears 1 and 2 by the conditions x=l cos(ϕ) and y=l sin(ϕ) where l is the distance between centres A and B.
