SPATIAL DIFFERENTIAL BEVEL GEARING MECHANISM WITH CROWN GEARS

Bevel gear 1 rotates about fixed axis A and meshes with planet crown gear 2 which is rigidly attached to crown gear 3. Gear 3 meshes with bevel gear 4 which rotates about fixed axis B. Planet crown gears 2 and 3 are connected by a turning pair to carrier 5 which rotates about axis A. The speeds n₁, n₄ and n₅ of gears 1 and 4, and carrier 5 (in rpm) are related by the equation n₅=(z₂z₄n₄-z₁z₃n₁)/(z₂z₄-z₁z₃) where z₁, z₂, z₃ and z₄ are the numbers of teeth of gears 1, 2, 3 and 4.
