Gear 3 rotates about fixed axis C. When eccentric 1 rotates, tooth a of link 2 engages the teeth of gear 3 consecutively, turning the gear. Pawl 5 indexes the gear in each position. In one revolution of link 1, gear 3 turns through an angle of α=360°/z, where z is the number of teeth of gear 3.
