Description
Portrait of Apollonius of Perga, who He was a Greek distinguished mathematician, astronomer and engineer of the Classic Age; he was known as the Great Geometrer . He spent a part of his live at Pergamon and before, at Alexandria where probably teached mathematics at the Museum. He was author of several studies on the conical sections and treatises of phisics and geometry known as Perì paradoxon mesantmaton Paradoxes in mechanics), whose treatises just few passages reached present days.
