The image presents the scheme of a closed-loop stand for testing of worm gears, designed and used in laboratory tests at the University "Politehnica" of Timisoara. The main assemblies of the stand are:
* worm gear to be tested
* return worm gear (identical with the tested one)
* mechanical elements to close the geometrical and energetic contour (two bevel gears with the transmission ratio equal to 1)
* connecting elements (shafts, bearings, couplings)
* external source of energy
* loading device
* different measuring devices to monitor and record the course of angular velocity, torque, vibration etc. in respect with time.
