Function |
The device is composed of a metal casing, with a padded pouch for protection and enabling its use in the field. A needle dial indicates the percentage of relative humidity, from 0 to 100. On either side are two digital display screens, one for temperature and one for time. Three knobs are used to adjust the settings of the machine, and diode indicates the load. The apparatus is connected to a sensor head with which the measurement is performed. |

Examples of application |
The porometer measure the diffusion speed of water vapour through the surface of leaves and calculates the stomatal resistance, which is a determining factor in water loss by plants during CO2 absorption in photosynthesis. The instrument is used by Biological Engineering students at the University Technological Institute, during vegetable physiology practical classes. |
