This is a Beckman refrigerated floor centrifuge. A cover gives access to the rotor. Two rotors can be adapted: one for 50ml tubes and one for micro-tubes. A control panel on the top enables the settings to be chosen. Digital display screens show the temperature, speed and duration of the centrifuging process. |

Centrifuging enables the separation of the elements of a sample which, depending on their density, will move to the bottom of the tube or remain in the supernatant liquid. This centrifuge is used by Biological Engineering students at the University Technological Institute during practical classes, as well as by academic researchers. |
