Structure of mechanism
Function This is a large centrifuge. It has a metal casing and on the right there is the refrigeration and ventilation system. A cover gives access to the rotor. The control panel is located on the front, and features a screen which displays the temperature in °C, the Newtons per metre and the revolutions per minute. Buttons are used to adjust these parameters. The on/off switch is located next to the control panel.
 

Application
Examples of application Centrifuging enables the elements of a sample to be separated according to their density, either moving to the bottom of the tube or remaining in the supernatant liquid. This centrifuge is no longer in use at the University Technological Institute in Aurillac.
