Estructura del mecanismo |
Función |
The system's primary function is to supply fresh air the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine and release exhaust gases while allowing to make the combustion chamber "sealed" during the compression and explosion the air / fuel mixture. Depending on load and engine speed, the filling is different. Engine performance depends on the filling. This system allows to vary the opening and the valve opening time. The filling can then be optimized. The system therefore uses a camshaft coupled to a conventional fixed cam which is further driving a roller. The fixed cam (the rotation does not depend on that of the first cam) can rotate around its axis a few degrees, thus changing the geometry of the system and therefore its operation. This cam is rotated by a pin connected to a shaft which rotates in the hollow shaft on which the cam rotates. The shaft is driven by an electric motor. |
Comment |
This system is present in the recent cylinder head engine that reduce energy consumption while maximizing performance. The principle of the system is to vary the exercise and the valve timing according to the speed of the engine to optimize the filling (and therefore torque) over a wide speed range.
