The book of Fra’ Giocondo on ‘De Architectura di M.P. Vitruvius’ published in Venice in 1511. The book reproduces the work by M.P. Vitruvius dealing with problems and solutions that concerns on architecture with teaching purposes but design aims. The book was conceived as directed mainly to the formation of architects in the ancient Rome. The book is composed of ten chapters (liber) in 245 pages with several figures including schemes and explicative details. In particular the chapter 10 is dedicated to the study of machines and their operations.The book is available at the library of Montecassino, Italy
