Alberto Santos Dumont was a Brazilian engineer, scientist and best known as an aviation pioneer. He was born on July 20th in 1873, in Brazil. He designed and built several balloons as well as the first dirigible. He later developed a heavier-than-air-machine that could take off by its own mean. He died in Brazil on July 23, 1932.
