Muirhead, James Patrick (1813 - 1898)

Englischer Anwalt, Biograph, Schriftsteller und Herausgeber

Muirhead übersetzte, schrieb und bearbeitete verschiedene Werke über das Leben von Watt. Befreundet mit dessen Sohn widmete er einen Großteil seiner Kraft der Würdigung der Leistungen des Vaters. Obwohl Rechtsanwalt von Beruf, machten ihn seine ausgedehnten Recherchen zum Experten auf diversen ingenieurtechnischen Gebieten. Seine Sammlung von Dokumenten, die Watt und Boulton betrafen, erlaubte ihm schließlich die Herausgabe einer umfassenden Watt-Biographie.
