Selected historical patents of the Geheimes Staatsarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz, Berlin

The basis of this digital collection are selected historical patent documents from the 19th century, which are archived in the Geheimes Staatsarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz Berlin (Secret State Archives Prussian Cultural Heritage). The inventions documented in the patents were modeled based on the patent drawings and patent texts using of CAD systems and exported as video and / or as virtual, interactive models and provided with explanations that describe the function. The collection was created in collaboration with the Geheimes Staatsarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz Berlin, which digitized the patents and provided it. The virtual models and videos were created by the Technische Universität Ilmenau (Ilmenau University of Technology) and were presented as a part of the exhibition "Klosterstraße 36. Sammeln, Ausstellen, Patentieren." in the Kunstbibliothek Berlin (Art Library Berlin) in 2014. The visitors could interact with the models on media stations.
