Abstract In this paper an optimization procedure is proposed to synthesize a cam profile.
In this paper an optimization procedure is proposed to synthesize a cam profile.
The main characteristics of efficient numerical calculations are formulated and a design procedure is suggested following the form of a multi-criteria optimization problem. The solution of this optimization problem is based on a user-oriented procedure making use of commercial software. A numerical example is discussed to demonstrate the actuality and feasibility of the suggested design procedure for cam profiles.
