Italian engineer, professor and then rector at the University of Pavia, Italy
Giuseppe Antonio Borgnis studied at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and after a service in the Navy in Venice he worked at the University of Pavia. He published a set of 10 books on machinery with theoretical and practical considerations that has been used as a reference technical hand book along the 19-th century, not only in Italy. Design of mechanisms, industrial machinery, mechanics of machines, theory of mechanisms.
